Pixie Geldof's Hair Evolution: Now She Adds A Pixie Crop To Her Hairstyle Wardrobe

Pixie Geldof might not strike you as an obvious hair hero of ours - but do you know how many styles this little lady has entertained us with? Answer: LOTS. She's best known as a blonde, right? But the 'It' girl turned model turned singer has also dabbled in brunette, grey, purple and even orange hues. It's enough to give hair chameleon Rihanna a run for her colour-swapping money.

Her latest update popped up on Katie Grand's Instagram feed. The LOVE editor-in-chief posted a grainy shot of our Pixie sporting a brand new crop - a PIXIE crop, no less. How fitting! While Ms Geldof has stuck with the rich brunette-almost-black tone we first saw at the MTV Europe Music Awards earlier this month, she's taken a brilliantly brave step with such a chic, sharp cut. Last night, she tweeted 'Had so much fun on shoot with @franburnslondon in Miami! Hair cut and beach! Ideal!'

Our favourite pixies

It's no secret Pixie styles are all the rage right now. Miley Cyrus became top of 2012's crops when she went for the chop, and was quickly followed by Rihanna. Anne Hathaway got in on the act when she took the plunge for a gritty role in Les Miserables. Then there's longtime pixie lovers like Michelle Williams, Mia Wasikowska and Carey Mulligan as well as Mia Farrow and Jean Seberg, who are surely the original trend-setters. Perhaps the most memorable moment, though, was when Emma Watson used her 'do to make a dramatic post-Harry Potter statement.

But while Emma's cut was super-cute with a whispy fringe, Geldof's has more of a boyish edge that suits her grungey vibe. Doesn't it work brilliantly with the androgynous clothes she's wearing in Katie's snap, for starters? Think Rihanna coolness rather than Michelle Williams sweetness. We like it! Also: where has she been hiding those disarmingly gorgeous eyes, eh?

The question is: might this be Pixie's best hair-do EVER? Take a look at her hairvolution in the gallery above and decide for yourself...
