A new job is the perfect excuse for a fancy new 'do - you know how it goes; new job, new you. Well Chezza has that 'first day back at school feeling' as at the X Factor announcement photocall this afternoon she unveiled a brand new swishy hairstyle.

Last night it was announced that Cheryl Cole was returning to the X Factor, following a cool £1.5 million deal. Cheryl clearly used some of her new salary on a million dollar makeover. Just a couple of weeks ago Cheryl was on the front row at Roberto Cavalli with her trademark brunette 'do, but she has now gone for a subtle ombre look which graduates from caramel blonde to light honey tips. She worked her new locks like a true L'Oreal campaign girl, swishing her hair like a total pro.

Has Cheryl's look today made anyone else a teeeny bit excited about the next series? At least for her X Factor wardrobe? Cheryl looked smokin' in a black pencil dress with sheer square print sleeves and neckline, which she paired with orange, white and black Christian Louboutin heels. If anyone else has a serious case of shoe envy, they can be yours for £745.

Back in February Cheryl gave us a sneaky look at her ombré hair, as she posted a picture of her new look on Instagram. Colour expert Michael Rowan gave Chezza’s new hue the thumbs up: “This rooty bold blonde is a key look this season. Heading the 90s grunge revival I’m sure we all had this look at one stage and it’s back again! It’s given a fresh new look to Cheryl and I think we will be seeing this with a few splashes of colour on the streets of London.”
