Our Top Tips For Michelle Obama As She Grows Out Her 'Irritating' Fringe

Here in the Grazia beauty department we’re well known to be fans of Michelle Obama’s beauty choices. Only in January we reported that Mrs O had up’d the beauty anti on her 49th birthday by adding some rather chic new 'bangs'.

It's no secret that fringes were proving to be a very popular beauty choice. Not only were they a HUGE trend on the catwalks for the past few seasons, but then Kate Middleton chose that long Farrah Fawcett style version and Kim Kardashian went for a soft long look that got everyone talking too.

MObama’s, needless to say, was a fringe-with a difference. Thick, glossy and slightly shorter, her bangs were blunter, more choppy and well, more fabulous than everyone else's.   We were left wondering whether the first lady’s new 'do was the work of her longstanding hair dresser Johhny Wright or, dare we say it, an impressive set of clip ons.

Those of you longing for a bit of a new season update would be wise to give this all flattering fringe a go. Longer and fuller than we’ve seen it for a while, this beauty works whatever you’re hair length or type. Snipped into long hair the result is pure bohemia and shorter hair is given a softer, more casual edge.

“The secret to achieving this season’s fringe is to avoid anything too wispy, keep it long, heavy and ever so slightly rounded on the edges,” says backstage hair styling hero Luke Hersheson. “Its versatility lies in the multiple ways it can be styled; you can literally flit from Madonna, to Jane Birkin to Kate Moss with a blast from the hair dryer or a spritz of product.”

Yesterday, however, Michelle admitted that her fringe has reached that dreaded growing out phase when it droops into your field of vision, tickles like crazy and is not long enough to sweep behind your ear.  It's “getting a little irritating,” she told US show Entertainment Tonight.  Argh! We’re scratching our foreheads at the very thought, arent you?

So we've helpfully compiled some tips for the FLOTUS to assist her in growing out those bangs in style. Take a note of the gallery below...
