Kim Kardashian's Hair Goes From Blonde To Brunette For US Vogue Cover

Before and after - Anna Wintour will be impressed [Rex]

They say that blondes have more fun but Kim Kardashian clearly thinks otherwise, ditching her bleached blonde locks for a more natural chocolate brown colour, which she shared in an Instagram snap yesterday. Captioned ‘I’m back’, the star’s new ‘do provoked hundreds of compliments from her 12 million Instagram followers.

Naturally dark-haired Kim embraced the bleach last year with an extreme take on the ombré trend, sparking a flurry of copycat colours: even Kim’s sisters Khloe and Kylie both sport the dip-dye effect. Perhaps we’ll now see a rush on brunette hair dye as Kim’s chocolate shade, punctuated with a few subtle highlights on the under layers, makes her hair look healthier and glossier than it has in ages.

Some fans have suggested that Kim’s return to her roots may be part of her wedding planning regime, while others have speculated that it’s down to her campaign to be featured on the cover of US Vogue, reasoning that a sophisticated brunette Kim would appeal to Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour more than a Hollywood Hills blonde. Jezebel claims that Kanye’s persistent ‘get-my-woman-on-the-cover-of-Vogue’ nagging has finally paid off, and Kim dyed her hair for the cover shoot over the weekend.

But now she has (possibly, probably) updated her 'do for the sake of US Vogue, will she be back to blonde or stick to her roots? When a fan asked her whether she'd ever go back to being blonde, she tweeted “absolutely! i loved it!” One thing’s for sure though – when a trip to the hairdresser’s earns you over 855,000 Instagram ‘likes’, it won’t be the last time Kim’s barnet hogs the limelight.
