Well, it was fun while it lasted. After three weeks of ice white locks, Kim K has apparently tired with her blonde ambition. Yep – the mega star was snapped in Hollywood yesterday (with daughter North in tow, obviously) having returned to her original raven-haired hue. While Kim is rather surprisingly yet to post an Instagram snap allowing us insight to her decision-making, we’re wondering whether she had perhaps had enough of the upkeep that goes hand–in-hand with bleach. You need only glance at her Instagram page to see she’s racked up three trips to the salon in a matter of weeks for toner treatments to keep brassy tones at bay, whilst referring to being blonde as a ‘full time job’.
Kim may or may not be aware that in going back to black she is in fact staying very on trend. While Kim debuted her new blonde hair at Paris Fashion Week, we noticed a significant number of models had gone the opposite way – transforming their hair from blonde to black. Renowned hair hero Guido Paulo was responsible for many of these transformations, dyeing some models hair darker literally moments before they stepped onto the runway at both Hugo Boss and Alexander Wang. At Marc Jacobs’ spring summer show, each model wore uniform black, bluntly-cut wigs atop their heads, while over at Chanel hair maestro Sam McKnight saturated the models’ hair in gel to give a faux-black tinge.
