Katy Perry Burns Her Blue Wig For New Single – Is This The End Of Her Crazy Hair Colors?

Now we’re firmly in the Katy Perry fan club, we swear there’ll never be a day when we’re too busy to take a moment to check out her latest crazy red carpet look or cryptic quote on her love life. And now she’s trailing the video for her next single Roar with a 30 second clip entitled ‘Burning Baby Blue’ in which she rather solemnly sets her trademark royal blue wig on fire (don’t try this at home kids).

What does it all mean?! Of course, Katy was all about the blue wigs during her cartoon character-esque days when she wore candy bras and bounced about on frothy clouds. Could it be that she's ditching her kooky ways? GASP. In the teaser, she certainly looks far from gleeful with her hair black and poker straight, her lipstick a dark berry shade and what looks like a Rodarte goth-tastic dress.

Here's hoping K-Pez is going to adopt the natural look permanently - not that she isn’t pretty enough to carry it off, of course, but we do appreciate a bit of colour in our humdrum lives. It's the appeal of Kathryn Elizabeth Hudson, who said in a recent interview with The Independent, ‘I'm just a normal girl – just a Plain Jane who watered a seed and watched it grow. If I can do it, anyone can. Girls don't need to be physically perfect to succeed.’ That she invented a character - the pop star Katy Perry – and became a megastar is pretty cool.

Earlier this week, we were noting that even her Smurf-tastic wardrobe has become more sophisticated when she wore a cute Tadashi Shoji cocktail dress to the film's premiere. This does, however, suggest she's not against ALL blue things. Phewf.
