Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens Goes Dark! 10 Male Makeovers Including Matthew Mcconaughey, 50 Cent And More

19 March 2013 by

Following Dan Stevens' dramatic departure from Downton Abbey the actor has dyed his blonde locks brunette. He showed off his new look at the GLAAD Media Awards this weekend and we have to say we APPROVE. It makes his baby blue eyes even more sparkly - swoon. Quite the Hollywood makeover.

His transformation made us think of other male stars who've had a radical image change and so we've rounded up the top 10 (both good and bad). Let's start with the good. Robert Pattinson had a break-over after the whole Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders saga. When he was with K-Stew he was a tad scruffy, wearing clothes that looked like they had been stewing on the floor for quite some time. But after the cheating scandal he emerged as a sharp-suited god landing his very own Dior campaign. While Rob may have experienced a break-over, Justin Theroux had a love-over as Jennifer Aniston worked her magic to re-style her man. Good work Jen, he looks hawt.

The best man-over EVER we've ever seen still has to be Justin Timberlake who cut off those N Sync curls and found solo success in the process. David Beckham has had many hair transformations with almost as many styles as wig-wearing Nicki Minaj. He has gone from blonde curtains to a mohican to close shaven to long Spanish locks (plus at least twenty more styles that we don't have time to count).

Now onto the bad... many actors have sacrificed their good looks for a film role. The award for the most shocking makeover of all time goes to Matthew Mcconaughey who said goodbye to his Magic Mike abs and dropped nearly 30 lbs to play an AIDS patient. Speaking of dramatic weight loss, buff rapper 50 Cent lost a whopping FOUR stone to play a football player with cancer in Things Fall Apart.
