Beyonce's come over all Marilyn Monroe in a new cover shoot for Out magazine. The singer sports a platinum wig and '50s pin-up inspired wardrobe in the just released snaps.
In the black and white pictures the mum-of-one has a tousled uber-blonde bob, winged eyeliner and glossy nude lips. Her nails are painted with a high-shine polish and she wears lashings of necklaces and rings. It's a high fashion take on the retro icon's beauty look.
As well as channelling the actress's hair and make-up look, Bey's shoot appears to be inspired by the Some Like It Hot actress's bombshell image. She poses topless in a basque in some of the risque photos as well as a sporting white bejewelled three-piece suit in others.
Queen B's sexed up her image recently with raunchy lyrics *cough* 'Drunk In Love' *cough* and videos - she taught herself to burlesque dance for the 'Partition' video. She talked the magazine about the way women's sexuality is often portrayed.
'There is unbelievable power in ownership, and women should own their sexuality. There is a double standard when it comes to sexuality that still persists. Men are free and women are not. That is crazy. The old lessons of submissiveness and fragility made us victims. Women are so much more than that. You can be a businesswoman, a mother, an artist, and a feminist—whatever you want to be—and still be a sexual being. It’s not mutually exclusive.'
Bey's not the first star to do a Marilyn Monroe inspired shoot. Everyone from Lindsay Lohan to Kate Moss has channelled the Some Like It Hot legend. Blake Lively did Marilyn in Gossip Girl, Kate Upton had a 'Happy Birthday, Mr President' moment on the cover of Vanity Fair and - of course - Michelle Williams played the star in movie My Week With Marilyn.
