New Year, New Hair: Beyoncé Turns Rock Star With A Mega Curly 'Do

02 January 2013 by

If there’s one lady who knows how to make the most of her hair, it’s Beyoncé Knowles. Here in the Grazia Beauty Department, we are constantly swooning over the impressive range of styles she trials. We've already rounded up ten of our favourite Beyoncé hairstyles ever from cornrows, bouncy waves, poker straight styles and swishy ponytails - to name but a few.

And just before we signed off for Christmas, we were adoring Beyoncé’s blogger-like bun, which was perched atop her head almost constantly for the last six weeks. She wisely took inspiration from the Autumn Winter 2012 shows where the humble bun was showcased everywhere from Stella McCartney and Roksanda Illinict to Alberta Ferretti, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and (please excuse us while we pause for breath) Peter Pilotto. There were two key versions in Beyoncé's bun-drobe: one was simple and sleek, the other used the lengths of her hair to form some rather fabulous oversized bangs.

Who is Beyonce's hair-spiration?

But now Ms B is giving a brand new look a go. The star has kept her amazing Tumblr updated not with pics of her buns OR cornrows, but with these snaps of gorgeous, voluminous brushed-out curls. Needless to say, we love!

So where has Beyoncé’s inspiration come from this time? The 'do reminds of the bouncy tresses Carrie Bradshaw circa The Big Affair and quite a lot of little sister Solange's fantastic 'fro and it isn’t all that different from Rihanna’s curliest moments. Or La Knowles has admired Jessica Alba’s pretty ringlets or Taylor Swift's impressive head of hair (pre-straightening). The most likely bet, though, is Slash. With the hat, those leather trews, the mega curls and that pose, Beyonce's latest transformation appears to be into a rockstar. Whatever will be next?
