VOTE: The Best Hairvolution Of 2013

02 January 2014 by

What a year of hairvolutions 2013 was! From Beyonce getting pixie-fied to Anne Hathaway swapping from blonde to black, those starlets certainly kept us on our toes over the past 12 months. But who should be crowned Hairvolution Queen of the Year?

Of course, Miley Cyrus never fails to impress with everything from a frothy peroxide quiff to a blunt bob that rather reminded us of the one that stomped Marc Jacobs' Spring Summer 2014 catwalk. She also mixed it up sporting a purple do for Halloween and even took us back to her twerk-free days as Hannah Montana thanks to a mousey brown wig. As for Rihanna, she stayed true to her chameleon ways - we're talking mullets, grey hair and auburn waves - while Lady Gaga mixed it up with a variety of styles, including a grand unveiling of her actual real hair!

On the less wacktacular front, we have our current hair hero Jennifer Lawrence. Aside from impressing us with her red carpet looks including ladylike up-dos and side-swept honey-blonde waves, she took a bold step by going for the chop. 'I cut it earlier and it grew to like here and then it grew to that awkward gross length and I just kept putting it in a bun and I thought "I don’t want to do this" so I just cut it off,' the actress explained. And no, don't fret - Katniss will not be a pixie-haired blondie in the next Hunger Games film; J-Law confirmed that she will be wearing a brunette wig. PHEWF.

Speaking of pixie crops, Beyonce also stepped up her hair game this year - along with wowing us in every other aspect too. You'll remember she ditched her trademark honey curls and showcased a shorter 'do in August before sporting a 'Pob' then returning to her luscious tresses to see in the New Year. We're also sending Best Tressed kudos to Nicole Richie, Sienna Miller and Kim Kardashian for providing constant hairspiration.
