Whether worn up or down, long or in a bun, it's all about plaits for Autumn Winter 2013. We saw the pretty style grace the catwalks in all four fashion capitals and have been trying to master them ourselves ever since. For starters, we've been taking inspiration from the Mathew Williamson show during London Fashion Week where models wore theirs long at the back. As for Valentino, the brand took braids to the side and accessorised with hairbands. Vivienne Westwood also favoured the long plait, but the designer brought her trademark edge by weaving in long ribbons. At Philosophy, we saw the sophisticated braided bun and Badgley Mischka combined the French roll with the plait while adding extra volume at the front for a fab retro feel. And let's not forget Rodarte, which showed that you don’t have to choose between and up or down with the plait opting for the half ponytail. But it was Fendi who brought the real edge to the plait, by teaming it with a coloured faux hawk to give it an extra punk feel.
