Us beauty ladies love December for a fair few reasons- the excuse to invest in some nurturing winter skincare, all those stunning festive beauty looks (glittery eye shadows, glossy red nails, sculpted cheekbones, etc) and not to mention the annual Chanel Metiers d’Art travelling fashion show, where seriously awesome beauty looks are a total given! For more than a decade, Chanel legend Karl Lagerfeld has picked a city linked to the fashion house for the theme of the show and this year chose Dallas, the Texan city where Coco Chanel once visited. When the location of this year’s show was unveiled, us beauty ladies couldn’t help but ponder the hair and make-up choices for the extravaganza. Well, judging by last night’s show, it’s safe to say they certainly didn’t disappoint, and we were over the moon to head backstage to catch up with hairdresser supreme Sam McKnight to find out all about the incredible hairstyles he had lined up for the evening.

From cowboy fringing to Navajo weaves to quilted saddle bags, there was no denying the deep South influences of the collection, and team Grazia beauty were thrilled to spy such references making their way over to the hair and beauty, too. Speaking of his hair creations, hair stylist extraordinaire McKnight said, “It’s all about the modern cowgirl. Cool, messy, low ponytails, and sexy.” We couldn’t agree more- from oversized bows to super-cute cowboy-worthy feathers to mini silver gun hair acessories, all we can say is yee-haa, cowgirl!
