Back in April we doffed our hats to Anne Hathaway for her very admirable dedication to her art when she chopped off all (and we mean ALL) of her luscious brown hair for the role of Fantine in new movie ‘Les Miserables.’ We're talking shaved head short.
Now the style has grown into a longer crop and oh, how we do love a pixie. Michelle Williams, Carey Mulligan, Mia Farrow and Emma Watson have all demonstrated exactly how to rock a gamine 'do. And there’s no denying that Anne is looking equally fabulous with her with her shorter-than-short style, which frames her gorgeous features just so.
One thing's for sure: it can’t have been easy to chop off those long and luscious locks. If anyone can challenge Kate Middleton on the gorgeous blowout stakes, it's Anne. Her red carpet blowouts really were the bee’s knees. Of course, Anne has sported short hair for a role before – the actress underwent several style transformations when playing the role of Emma in the adaptation of David Nicholls’ novel, ‘One Day’. But rather than taking the chop, she wore a series of wigs to create the different looks to span the two decades over which the film is set, thus saving her delicious tresses.
Now Anne has embarked on the promotional tour for the 'Les Mis' movie, the actress has the challenge of how to work her crop for each red carpet appearance. First stop was Tokyo last night where we saw Hathers working longer layers, which now cover her forehead, and she's added a chic side parting too. Perhaps she'll incorporate some little plaits a la Carey Mulligan, or might she add a hair accessory or three like Emma Watson, or even a weave like Rihanna? Ok, maybe not.
Want to do like Anne? Rub some styling cream like, Toni & Guy Texturising Glue, £7.19 between your fingertips and run your hands through your crop, before spritzing with GHD Final Shine Spray, £9.95. This will guarantee added volume and texture and stop your crop from feeling flat. We can't wait to watch her hair progression as the promo tour continues.
