We've often trilled about the joys of Alexa Chung's Instagram feed from her wacky faces to envy-inducing holiday snaps - and today it's offered up yet another gem. This time it's a sneak peek of the sartorial star's new campaign for L'Oreal and we've never seen her look so darn pretty!
It was announced in February that Alexa would be adding another string to her impressive bow as the new face of L'Oréal Professionnel INOA colour. Considering this is the lady with the most desirable un-done barnet, we greatly approved. Now we've got the first taster of what's to come from her new gig thanks to this pic that she posted to Instagram along with the caption, 'Sneak peek @lorealprofuk shoot today'. Thanks, Chungers.
She joins an impressive group of L'Oreal campaign stars, including Cheryl Cole and Gwen Stefani, but rather than high-octane glamour and gloss, Alexa has stayed true to her trademark '60s hipster style for the shoot. See the kohl'd eyes, the whispy fringe, the cute-as-a-button plait and classic shift dress. We wouldn't expect anything less.
Speaking to Grazia earlier this year, Alexa confessed she was never brave enough to experiment with hair colour as a teenager. 'I've never done anything wild. I wasn't cool enough! And I think I was a bit scared if it went wrong,' the presenter told us. She has had the odd beauty mishap, however, as she admitted to once accidentally dyeing her locks bright orange.
These days Chung is looked after to by stylist Jose Quijano at Neville Hair & Beauty who adds higher and lower mocha tones to keep her tresses looking vibrant and natural. And she won't be messing with the length like her good friend Pixie Geldof as she told us that short hair would definitely not suit her face shape.
'The thing is, you never realise what you look like until you have really looked, you know? And I know I have a horsey face. If I cut off my hair I would look like Dave Grohl with short hair. He looks great, because he has long hair. No one thought he looked good with short hair. I have big ears, too, and if I had short hair they would just look enormous.'
Whether you reckon she has a horsey face or not (personally, we don't), Chungster certainly knows how to give good hair. Get some hairspiration from the gallery below...
