We Visit Hot New Nail Boutique Sophie Gass

12 November 2012 by

It might not come as much of a surprise that Grazia Team Beauty get to try out lots of different beauty things here and there - from massages to waxing and everything in between, we like to keep up on everything beauty. Hot new destination on our beauty speed dial comes in the shape of Sophie Gass, a luxe nail boutique in Holland Park that is just what you'd imagine a high-end nail place to be like. The cool thing about Sophie Gass though is that it's got a whole lot more than just nails; from fresh flowers for sale, little jewelled trinkets and even a select range of clothing (think silk camisoles and soft jumpers) as well as home accessories.

Inside the boutique

Whilst indulging in a post-work manicure, we caught up with Sophie herself and got all the deets on how her unique idea came about. After a high-flying city job straight after university, Sophie just decided it was time to do something for herself. "I have always wanted to do something myself that would incorporate my love for fashion, flowers and great service all into one and so my boutique was born." The thing that sets the shop apart from others is that it's got a little bit of everything. "Sophie Gass isn’t a nail bar and it isn’t a spa," she told us. "It aims to offer the best manicures and pedicures in town without a hefty price tag yet still offering tip top service and a relaxing, chic atmosphere." Which it has by the bucket load FYI.

It doesn't come as amuch of a shock that Lily Allen and Fearne Cotton have already paid Sophie Gass a visit - she has a few other A-listers too but is very discreet not to mention them. And we're loving the fact that mani's start at a very decent £18 and last for weeks. We had to find out what Sophie's fave nail colour was while we were there. "I’m an Essie red obsessive, so Bordeaux and Wicked are top of my list." Good choice Sophie, and we're big fans of your wicked boutique.

Our manicure is still chip-free after 10 days
