Lily Pebbles of [a target="_blank" href="">What I Heart Today[/a] is one of our favourite bloggers - a former Grazia Daily [a href="/beauty/archive/2012/08/21/beauty-blogger-of-the-week--lily-pebbles-of-what-i-heart-today-reveals-her-top-b.htm">Beauty Blogger of the Week no less[/a]. So we were thrilled when she agreed to give us a roundup of her favourite beauty trends spotted backstage and out and about at London Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2013. We know from going [a href="/showreports/archive/2012/09/16/backstage-at-topshop-unique-and-olivia-palermo--daisy-lowe-and-and-anna-dello-ru.htm">behind-the-scenes with Lily[/a] at the Topshop Unique show that she is glued to her camera so who better to give us a blogger's eye view of the makeup and hair looks that are worth investing in now...

Lily Pebbles: This season for me was all about beauty and most of my time was spent running around backstage trying to get a glimpse of what’s coming up in Spring/ Summer 2013.

It was important for me to be comfortable and stylish during Fashion Week - here's a look at what I wore:

1. Plaits

The most prominent hair trend for me was plaits and I saw them absolutely everywhere! Toni & Guy created an alien-like hairstyle at the Jean-Pierre Braganza show, having an exposed plait to represent the spine. Todd Lynn also had the models’ hair in plaits, with one long sun-kissed plait running down their backs. Plaits can be sleek and proper as well as roughed up and casual and this was a great combination of the two.

2. Straight and sleek hair

I also saw a lot of straight and sleek hair perfectly tamed with smoothing products. Toni & Guy created a structured look for the Yifang Wan show, whilst Corrie Nielsen showed us a combination of slick and textured hair. A strong side parting seemed like a common match for the straight and pulled back look seen at both Corrie Nielsen and Todd Lynn.

3. Dewy skin

Dewy skin is back for another season and it was seen in the majority of the shows. Terry Barber from MAC created a gorgeous fresh skin with MAC face & body for the Jean-Pierre Braganza show. Todd Lynn’s beauty theme was posh girl gone wild and the final result left the models looking glowing and healthy.

4. Brown smokey eyes

The Body Shop created a gorgeous brown smokey eye for the Yifang Wan show. The key word in this look is blend! There were no harsh lines and the overall look was very soft and wearable. Again the skin was fresh and glowing, perfect for Spring/Summer.

5. Topshop Unique

Topshop Unique was where I saw the most wearable beauty looks, something that any girl could pull off. The hair was left to dry naturally and given texture using the L’Oreal Beach Fizz. The makeup was girly meets grunge with pink blusher on the eyelids and darker kohl smudged out under the lower lashline. Put down the nail art pen because it was all about nude using Topshop’s ‘Nice n Neautral’ for a subtle, fresh look.

6. Blue hair

Out and about around Somerset House I saw some truly inspiring outfits but the beauty trend that I saw the most of was definitely blue hair. Some created a blue pastel haze and some went all out with brighter turquoise, but it was a prominent trend that was pulled off well. Combine the blue with textured hair and plaits and you’ve got yourself a hairdo fit for LFW.
