Natalie Portman Transforms From Brunette To Blonde For New Film Role: What's The Verdict?

24 September 2012 by

Do blondes really have more fun? Natalie Portman is about to find out as the actress has dyed her trademark brunette locks a significantly lighter tone for a new film role. The Oscar-winner joined Robert Pattinson and her husband Benjamin Millepied on the red carpet on Saturday night for the Van Cleef & Arpels Dinner for L.A. Dance Project wearing a dazzling Dior Couture gown and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels. She certainly looked like she was having a good time as a golden girl as she was spotted enjoying a joke with Pattinson who a source told Us Magazine 'was laughing so hard, he almost spit out his beer!'

Speaking about her makeover Natalie revealed to The Hollywood Reporter 'My mom says I'm like a different person. I did it just a couple of days ago'. She certainly looks like a different person - thanks to the dye and the dress she's transformed from edgy indie actress to straight up Hollywood beauty queen. Although it's not been confirmed which film the actress has reached for the bleach to star in, this is not the first time that she's undertaken a dramatic hair change for a role. She famously shaved off all her hair to play the part of Evey in V for Vendetta, which then grew out into a cute pixie crop, and in Closer she rocked a sleek bob - as well as a rather trashy pink wig.

But what do you make of Natalie's blonde do? Although it's nice to see the actress change things up we can't help but look back at her former caramel hues with longing. Bags and More (Mon Sep 24 12:50:00 BST 2012): Think it would be hard to find anything about Natalie Portman that was not lovely. Blonde suits her as well as brunette.
Frankie Parry (Tue Sep 25 12:40:52 BST 2012): It doesn't look terrible, but she definately suits brunette a lot more than blonde. I hope she returns to her natural colour.
Evgenia Kiyashko (Tue Sep 25 20:14:26 BST 2012): Брюнеткой ей больше идет. Миловиднее она, чем когда блондинка.
