If you haven’t heard the words Crazy Horse being bandied around recently, then we don’t know where you’ve been hiding... On Wednesday night a whole host of A-Listers, including Amber le Bon, Daisy Lowe and Mark Fast, gathered to celebrate the arrival of Paris’ oldest caberet, Crazy Horse at Doon Street on London’s South Bank for a three month residency. Their new show Forever Crazy, has been conceived as a tribute to Alain Bernardin, the caberet's original founder and features Crazy Horse “classics” as well as new, original creations by French star choreographer Philippe Decouflé. Bearing in mind the general fabulous-ness of their makeup and hair, we thought it necessary to catch up with the girls to quiz them on all of their beauty-know how. Check out dancer Kanella Chado's amazing soundbites below.
Grazia Daily: Can you take us through your pre-show routine?
Kanella Chado: Well I don’t actually use any foundation as it makes my skin feel really suffocated when I sweat, so I prefer using bare minerals matte powder which I apply with a big brush. I use the Rimmel Volume Flash the Max Mascara and the n°48 blush from Make up Forever. I also put on MAC Eyeshadows in Coppering and Carbon and finish the lot off with the HD micro finish powder from Make Up Forever - It ensures my makeup stays on under all of the lighting.
Grazia Daily: And what is the recipe for those amazing red lips?
Kanella Chado: Actually I mix two different lipsticks. The Red Russian Lipstick from MAC and the 418 Transparent Lipstick from Make Up Forever. I apply both with a pencil - if I do it this way I use less and it lasts for much longer.
Grazia Daily: How long does it take you to complete your beauty regime?
Kanella Chado: Generally 20 minutes
Graziadaily: What skincare do you use?
Kanella Chado: I love Caudalie – it’s really gentle and nourishing after all of that makeup.
Grazia Daily: Do you have any unusual beauty tips or tricks?
Kanella Chado: I use black eye shadow as my eyeliner and I apply it with a small brush and I stretch it out farther than the corner of my eye with a moist cotton bud to achieve a feline effect. I also draw my eye brows with a brown eye shadow. I never forget to wash my makeup brushes once a week with shampoo and conditioner too.
Give it a go - We dare you!
