Grazia Daily: How long have you been blogging?
Lisi: Since March, 2009. I've been reading blogs since September of 2008.
Grazia Daily: What made you decide to start your blog?
Lisi: I began blogging to have a creative outlet and a way to share the things I love. I am passionate about beauty, fashion, film and books. I love writing, thinking creatively and fusing my own ideas with the latest fashion and beauty trends. Blogging has enabled me to merge all of these things together.
Grazia Daily: What’s been your highlight so far?
Lisi: Meeting and becoming close friends with bloggers I admire. Also having many opportunities to work alongside these amazing bloggers and brands I truly love.
Grazia Daily: Are there any particular perks of blogging?
Lisi: I always appreciate the swag, it's a very nice perk about blogging. I've also been invited to many incredible events including small dinners, fashion shows, talks/roundtables with editors and trend/trade shows. They're so much fun, a great way to network and learn about the latest developments in the field!
Grazia Daily: Where do you get your inspiration?
Lisi: Everywhere. I love street style blogs from all over the world. Real people wearing real clothes, doing their own hair and makeup. To me, that's the richest type of inspiration. Truly original! The blogging world has opened up so many streets everywhere that you can pretty much access anything. I love browsing my tumblr and pinterest for all kinds of inspiration. And inspiration comes from everything: from a shopping trip in NYC to a photography exhibit at a museum to an independent film or an article in the newspaper. I try to keep my eyes open all the time.
Grazia Daily: Blog brag time: why should people read your blog?
Lisi: I like to think I'm a little different than the typical fashion or beauty blog. I blog about things that I love and add my own commentary to my posts. I like to stay genuine to my own opinions and remain honest with my audience. I'm a little quirky and a bit sarcastic and I like to have fun with blogging. I try not to take it too seriously and really enjoy connecting with my readers. Come check out the site and I hope you'll stick around!
Grazia Daily: What advice do you have for anyone starting a blog?
Lisi: If you feel like you need to blog, then you should blog. It's not for everyone, but people who feel like they need to get involved in the conversation can and should. It's so easy and really doesn't require much in terms of equipment. Just get a blogger or wordpress account and it's pretty simple to set up. Then find your voice. Ha. Easier said than done. But seriously, work on finding out who you are, what you like and then your posts will come naturally, or organically, as editors like to say. I think the hardest part about blogging is the time commitment. I won't put up a post I'm not proud of and my posts take a while to create. I'd say a good blogger should have dedication, passion and some killer time management skills. You can get lost on the internet and it's probably helpful to use your time effectively!
Grazia Daily: Which other beauty blogs do you love?
Lisi: Into the Gloss, Beauty Banter, Glamour's Girls in the Beauty Department, Nadine Jolie.
