Model Beauty Secrets Revealed: Karolina Kurkova Swears By Lemon Juice!

28 August 2012 by

Model and former Victoria’s Secret Angel Karolina Kurkova revealed recently one of her best kept beauty secrets which you’ll be surprised to hear involves Karolina applying lemon juice directly to her face to boost the radiance in her complexion.  Apparently, the chef’s essential citrus fruit is packed full of vitamin C, antioxidants and a whole host of sugars which brighten up your skin and exfoliate it beautifully. Well, if it works for a super model….

All of this talk about unusual, DIY model beauty tips has got us thinking, what else are those beauties slapping on that we could benefit from?  Here’s what we found out!

Australian beauty Miranda Kerr applies olive oil on the ends of her hair, leaving it on overnight before rinsing.  It seals any split ends, adds moisture and creates unbeatable, glistening shine. It’s the vitamins E and K (amongst other good fats) found within the oil which make it the ideal dry hair remedy.

Model and yummy mummy Alessandra Ambrosio drinks coconut water to hydrate her skin from the inside out. This deliciously refreshing drink contains a group of nutrients called cytokinins which are believed to slow the ageing process and lower the risk of cancer.  Can’t argue with that!

VS Angel Marisa Miller swears by applying conditioner to dry hair, combing it through, wrapping it up in a bun and leaving it on all day long before rinsing it out. Well, if you have the time…

Backstage, models and make-up artists have been known to concoct a powerful face pack consisting of aspirin and honey. The salicylic acid within the aspirin sloughs away dead skin cells and unblocks pores while the honey soothes and softens.  Dreamy!

Emergen-C Health and Energy Booster packets are a favourite with models backstage during shows as they deliver a nutritious combination of vitamins and minerals which provide energy and help to fight off the symptoms of stress.  When you’re jet-setting form one fashion city to the next, they’re a model life saver.
