How long have you been blogging?
I started my blog around two and a half years ago. The first year was spent figuring out the blogging world and within the last year I've really got to grips with it and now post every day.
What made you decide to start your blog?
I actually started my blog at university as part of my course, but it was the final push I needed after reading blogs for a while and really wanting to start my own.
What’s been your highlight so far?
I've had so many amazing opportunities it's hard to pick one, but I really enjoyed working on the launch of the Oxford Street Forever 21 store. I spent the day in the store picking outfits and modelling in the shop window which was quite an experience.
Are there any particular perks of blogging?
I'm very lucky to be invited to events and press launches, I absolutely love trying new beauty products so being able to do so before they launch is very exciting. There are definitely perks but you only get the perks after lots of hard work!
Where do you get your inspiration?
Most of my inspiration comes from reading other blogs and from the London street style all around me, but like most girls my age I love browsing magazines too.
Blog brag time: why should people read your blog?
I review products, rave about my favourites, post my outfits and I also make videos on my YouTube channel 'What I Heart Today'. My blog is just an extension of me so if you're interested in a 20-something London girl with an unhealthy appetite for beauty and a slight addiction to Zara then I think you'll love it.
What advice do you have for anyone starting a blog?
I think my advice would be to spend a bit of time reading some blogs and have a think about what you want yours to be about. Once you've decided what kind of blog you want, just go for it! Practice makes perfect so just keep writing, don't worry about followers and get into your own flow. In terms of equipment, any old laptop and camera will do at first, it's the content that's important! I'd recommend making your photos big and clear though as this will support your writing and make it easier to read.
Which other beauty blogs do you love?
Ooh what a tough question, there are so many! At the moment I am loving ViviannaDoesMakeup, Liana Beauty, Lips So Facto and Essie Button. I warn you though, read these blogs and your bank balance will suffer!
