In this week’s issue of Grazia (out today!) we tell you exactly how to work the all-new flexible fringe - and it’s not the first time that we’ve celebrated beauteous bangs this season. Last month we named the trend one of the season’s ten hottest hair trends when our intern Alice went for the chop and tried it out herself. If you decide to give it a go you’ll definitely be following the fashion pack - we spotted this fringe at more than 25 autumn/winter 2012 shows back in February.
Then a couple of weeks ago Jessica Biel and Selena Gomez updated their look with a built-in fringe. Selena picked Twitter to reveal her new ‘do saying "New hair for a new movie :) I love changing my hair!" We suspect that the role in question is likely to be for her 2013 film The Getaway in which she’s playing ‘kid’ alongside Ethan Hawke, Bruce Payne and Jon Voight.
Fringe benefits in this week's Grazia
So what is this new fringe, you ask? Flattering and flexible, the built-in fringe allows you to control both how you want to wear it and how much of a statement that you want to make. ‘Ask your hairstylist for a thick, long-layered fringe with an ever-so-slightly rounded edge,’ says Grazia hair hero Adam Reed. ‘Just remember that your fringe needs to be an extension of your hairstyle rather than a stand-alone feature.’ Consequently Adam recommends working out the three ways you most often wear your hair amd then asking the hairstylist to tailor your fringe to that. Clever, huh?!
Get a load more of Adam’s amazing fringe management, trimming and styling tips in this week’s issue and in the meantime, check out our gallery above for the fabulous fringes that we’re coveting now.
