We have to admit that we've been glued to the Olympics ever since it started - from celeb-spotting to a few teary moments at Jess Ennis to jaw-dropping at the pole vaulting (it's was insane wasn't it?!), we just can't get enough of it. But something a little different caught our eye yesterday over at the aquatic centre, something beauty-related and a little, well, wacky to say the least! Yep, it was only the Russian sychronized swimmers that drew a LOT of attention to themselves, not only for winning a gold medal but also for their strange eye makeup. As you can see, they looked almost clown-like with a full face of dramatic makeup - large red lips, thick mascara and hugely decorative eyeshadow. Wow is all we can say, what a look! And it's got us thinking... if they were swimming around all day in all that maquillage, it must have been mega strong and totally waterproof, right?!

Now we're no strangers to a bit of waterproof makeup - you can often find us applying a touch of YSL's Waterproof False Effect Mascara on holiday or Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay In Place Eye Pencil, but we're not sure we'd go as far as actually painting full-on eyelashes over our eyelids. Although who are we to comment, they did win gold after all! Maybe the judges just couldn't resist their utterly gorgeous faces?
