Us Graziettes Are Swooning Over Estee Lauder's Vampy New Nail Collections

26 July 2012 by

With the sun baking and our make-up practically melting in the heat, we’re looking to get our hands on something a little cooler before the tomorrow’s Olympic Opening Ceremony (which we hear is going to be BEYOND incredible!) Luckily we’ve found a little nail wonder which takes cool to a whole new level -  get ready to go from simple summer to vaudeville vamp with Estee Lauder’s new Pure Color Nail Lacquer Beyond Black and Metal Mania Collections.

A few of our favourites

Now girls, we have to warn you, this collection wasn’t created for the faint-hearted. Estee Lauder’s Creative Makeup Director (and all-round backstage hero) Tom Pecheux worked on the collections and was inspired by the forbidden side of the City of Love, Paris. “When creating this collection I wanted to capture the intensity and naughty side of Paris when it truly comes alive…at night!” Wow Tom, thanks for that and yes, us Graziettes are feeling rather seduced by the velvety finishes and gleaming shades.

For a brand that usually exudes a more traditional glamour, we’re happy to embrace Estee Lauder’s cross to the dark side. Not only is it uber-cool but it will take us into next season in serious style. In fact, the names of the polishes in both collections are as dangerous as they are fab - Viper and Blue Blood summon up images of Moulin Rouge lounges, while the chic dark red tone of Black Iris conjures up the rich velvet interiors at the Hotel Costes. Nothing to fear ladies, these polishes are as wearable as they are fun, which is why we’re so in love!

And just to get you going, we thought we’d let you know that our own Beauty Director Liz Hambleton has chosen the maroon-purple shade, Smashed, to wear to the Olympic Horse Eventing on Monday while Beauty Editor Lauren Murdoch-Smith is considering Black Iris for her upcoming nuptials.

Both Nail Lacquer collections will be available on the 1st August - visit for more information.
