This grey weather is making us want to jet off to sunnier climes and in the heat (or not) of the moment, we asked a few of our favourite pro's what they would be packing for their holidays away this summer. It's an interesting selection peeps so read on to find out and maybe even get a bit of inspiration too.

Dream destination?

I'm finally going to the Burning Man Festival in the Nevada desert in August. I can't wait!

Beach bag essentials?

First off I always take a travel size Therapie’s Restore Aura Spray, £22 for cattle-class flights which puts me in the right frame of mind for a long-haul flight - it makes me better equipped to deal with screaming kids, rude customs staff and claustrophobia. I am hooked on the Institut Esthederm Adaptasun Body Lotion, 250ml, £42.50 for holidays in the sun. Jouer's Luminizing Moisture Tint, SPF20, £29 is brilliant because it's waterproof, light and it makes your skin look amazing. I also always carry Escentric Molecules’ Escentric 01, £64 in the travel size version which works with your natural pheromones to make you smell fabulous so might help me to attract a little holiday romance! As I get older the comforts of home become a little harder to part with so I like to travel with my Holistic Silk Pillowcase, £45 which even makes a hostel feel like the Ritz.

Holiday Book?

I love sci-fi so it would have to be The Long Earth by Stephen Baxter and Terry Pratchett. I've also got My Stroke of Insight by Jill Bolte Taylor (about the workings of the left and right brain, written by a brain specialist who recovered from a major stroke) ready as my second read.

Josh Wood, hair stylist to the stars and a beauty editor fave, is founder of the Josh Wood Atelier in Holland Park and counts blonde bombshells Elle MacPherson and Laura Bailey as clients.

Dream Destination?

Rajasthan in India.

Beach bag essentials?

I never travel without Institut Esthederm Sun Intolerant Protection Body Spray, 150ml, £39.25 especially if I’m shooting on location which can often be really hot and sunny. I also use Clinique's Deep Comfort Body Lotion, £28 which I love because it's super hydrating. This Works’ Perfect Hands Intense Moisture, 75ml, £18 is a real must-have of mine as I use my hands so much within my work so want to nourish them at the end of the day. The other things I swear by are my Enzyme Supplements from Atone Natural, £24.50 for 90 capsules.

Fragrance queen Jo Malone is the be all and end all of the perfume world. Her creations are highly sought after and with her exciting new venture, JO LOVES, she is continuing to make some of the chicest and sexiest scents around.

Dream destination?

Parrot Cay in the Turk & Caicos.

Even though I don’t sit directly in the sun, I like to make sure that I’m wearing SPF50 at all times and Banana Boat SPF50, £8.99 is my favourite. I’m never without my Chanel Lip Gloss, £21 and the beach is no exception! I’m not very good at styling my hair and my trick is to comb Moroccan Oil Restorative Hair Mask, £30.45 all the way through to keep it off my face and protected from the sun. I love the sharp, zesty qualities of JO LOVES A Shot of Thai Lime over Mango, £45 - it creates a clean, cologne-like scent which is perfect for a warm climate. Cetaphil Moisturising Cream, £9.99 is my staple whenever I go away because it doubles up as an after-sun lotion and all over body cream. Before I go out for dinner, I sometimes apply it mixed together with a few drops of fragrance.

Dream destination?

Carlisle Bay in the Caribbean.

Beach bag essentials?

I love to use St Tropez Sun Care SPF 30 Body, £20 and St Tropez Sun Care SPF 50 Face, £15. It's very lightweight, light reflective and even has a tan enhancer in so it ticks all the boxes. I am known to sit by the pool with my Slendertone Face, £249.99 on! I use it every other day just for 20 minutes and it's so portable to take away with me. Nuxe Dry Oil Spray, 100ml, £27.50 is a beach holiday staple - it smells so summery and because it's dry I can put my kaftan on straight after. In the evenings I like to sweep a bit of Burberry’s Glow Powder, £31 over my face to add a bit of contouring.

Liz Hambleton is our very own Beauty Director and when she isn't jetting off to exclusive product launches across the globe, she can be found doing yoga in East London and working on her debut novel.

Dream destination?

Any of the remote beaches in Greece, I love it there.

Beach bag essentials?

I always pack Sisley Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30, 40ml, £91.50 with a spa effect! I love Lancaster Tan Maximizer, £22 because it allows me to stay out of the sun as much as possible but know that the little bits of sun I allow myself will still cultivate a great tan. I'm a real oils girl so I'll also be packing my trusty Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil, £19.95 which is invigorating and firming at the end of the day and also some mini Aromatherapy Associates Shower Oils, £37.50 which smell so delicious.

Dream destination?

I love spa holidays so it would have to be an Aman hotel. They have amazing treatments and the best food all in an incredible setting. But my favourite beach is Harbour Island in the Bahamas - poweder-white sand and completely clear water with no rocks - heaven!

Beach bag essentials?

I love La Roche Posay Anthelios Melt-in Cream SPF50, £14.50 because I have super sensitive skin, so find it difficult to find an SPF that works without causing irritation in the sun. Omorovicza Hydrating Mist, £46 is perfect for when you're sitting in the sun for long periods, as it helps to nourish and revitalise skin and I love the orange blossom smell. Burberry Lip Mist, £22.50 is lovely and sheer for holidays and I tend to use it on both my lips and cheeks when I'm on holiday, which is easy and quick. I'm a huge fan of Giorgio Armani Face Fabric Foundation, £31 because of its light texture and satin-matte finish which lasts in the heat. Oh and I'd be lost without my Rodial Skinny Beach Sticks, £48! They help to increase your skin's natural defence against the sun and also decrease water retention so you feel slimmer.
