Regular readers of Grazia Daily know that we are often to be found having a good ole swoon at Kate Middleton’s forever shiny, swishing locks. It remains a mystery how they stay so perfect and groomed all day long, although we do know she has a bit of help from the pros.
Her last hairstylist James Pryce has pretty much become a semi celeb since he got the job of snipping her locks and received the hairdresser coup of the century, the Royal Wedding. Oh and those lovely perma-blow dries on the Duchess’s Canada tour? Those were James too.
So it’s no surprise that Mr. Pryce has two new royals on his hairdressing books in the form of sisters Beatrice and Eugenie. We first took note of their tresses over the Jubilee weekend when the hair guru styled both Princesses for the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s and promptly tweeted that they were ‘great girls’. Ooh.
Pryce was in the spotlight a few months ago after a right old scissors-at-dawn dispute with his previous employer Richard Ward, the salon which he kicked off his career. There was tension between the two over the Duchess of Cambridge’s hair and this resulted in James leaving the salon after 6 years and taking up residence at Josh Wood’s swanky Holland Park Atelier.
The strain was spotted on Twitter again when a pal of Ward’s commented: ‘Richard has spent 20 years building up his business and is known and trusted for his discretion. He would never dream of tweeting about who his clients’. Miaooow!
Whatever the tiffs and tantrums going on behind the scenes, we’re super excited about seeing Beatrice and Eugenie rocking some gorgeously coiffured locks a la K-Middy in upcoming months. We suggest you follow Mr. Pryce on Twitter, @JamesPryceUK for all the insider goss on what his scissors get up to at the Palace and - who knows - maybe even a sneak peak of Bea’s new fro!
