Remember the rags-to-riches tale of surfer girl Kate in 2002’s teen summer blockbuster Blue Crush? (Admit it you've watched it, like at least six times and subsequently spent way too much time obsessing about how to be more like her, with her boho beach lifestyle and tanned, long-limbed friends). Well, she’s back! But this time in Tulum, Mexico, showing off her brand new jewellery designs for shopping website JewelMint. All in the name of business of course, and nothing to do with hanging out on the tropical sands with boyfriend and the film’s very famous director, Michael Polish.
Touting a catalogue of perfectly pretty earrings, bracelets and necklaces, it’s Kate’s colour palette we love. Sashaying around the streets in zingy pink and purple pastel shorts, she matches her girly hues with her flushed, beach babe cheeks. Add tousled hair, bronzed skin and sheer peachy lips that look like she’s spent too much time smooching Mr. Polish and Kate makes for a very plausible surfer girl once again.
Our only complaint? Loose the awkward poses and shots hiding behind props looking bashful. Plus there are a few too many ‘hair cannily covering my face’ moments for our liking. Yes, you may be acting coy in front of your fella, but we all know you’re a full blown American hottie, so don’t be afraid to show it!
