It was way back in March that Grazia Daily was admiring Mad Men’s resident ice (blonde) queen January Jones for embracing this year's love affair with pastel hair. Remember when she rocked those cute My Little Pony-like streaks in the palest shade of rose pink? Yep, it had us quite smitten and nearly (but not quite) racing to the nearest hairdresser for an identical version.
And now it appears that the actress is establishing herself as quite the colour chameleon. January was spotted out and about this weekend sporting not only a healthy dose of luscious and lengthy extensions, but also a hot new red hair hue. What a departure from those blonde choppy locks, eh?
It’s great to see Jan Jones shaking things up a notch and making a departure from the Betty Draper look we all know and love. Whether the sparkling new tress-formation is an act of whimsy or the result of a new role remains a mystery (although we assure you we're on the case). Either way, we think the warm hue is super-flattering and won't clash with co-star Christina Hendrick's bold fiery locks. Phewf! Besides, Christina got in there first, dying her natural blonde hair a striking red tone aged 10.
Emma Stone dabbles in both red and blonde hair hues
Of course, Miss Jones isn’t the first lady of celebsville to turn from brilliant blonde to on-trend red. Blake Lively, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson and Elle Fanning have all dabbled in the hair hue and turned to the bottle so to speak although the look hasn't stayed around for long. Meanwhile, our current beauty crush, Emma Stone, has recently ditched the red to return to her natural blonde look for her starring role in The Amazing Spider-man. Hmm, will January Jones stick it out or will she decide blondes really do have more fun?
