Beautiful seaside setting? Check. Super-pouty modelling goddess? Check. Super-pouty modelling goddess balancing a cat on her head? Err, check. Yep, you’re not seeing things – we’re talking about Daphne Groeneveld’s new mini-film for Dior Addict that arrived on the interweb this week. We freaking love it – and we’re pretty sure you will too.
With Stereo Total’s ‘I Love You, Ono’ providing the musical backdrop to Daphne’s playful antics – during which she lazes on the sun-drenched beach in St. Tropez before treating us to a bit of cheeky dancing and plenty of comical outfit changes – the video, shot by Jonas Akerlund and Tim Walker, is the perfect antidote to our dismal British summer.
As ever, Daphne looks gorgeous – and catches the eye of many admirers as she pops along to a little French café for a frolic with the locals (men and, of course, a cat which plays on her head. Her actual head.). Daphne was scouted in Amsterdam at just 15-years-old in 2010, and shot to fame after starring in campaigns for fashion gods like Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu and Calvin Klein. FYI, she also appeared alongside none other than Tom Ford on the December 2010/January 2011 cover of Paris Vogue. Not bad after just two years in the industry, hey?
And when you watch this film, you’ll see why – channelling Brigitte Bardot, she’s couldn’t be more flippin’ gorgeous.
So go on, indulge in a little designer daydream. You’ll thank us.
