Fragrance Pick: Two New Asian Inspired Scents From By Kilian

21 May 2012 by

Today is all about fragrance on the Grazia Beauty desk. What with a fabulous fragrance feature under way as well as an array of new perfumes to sniff, it’s all we can talk about right now. These two new beauties caught our eye earlier from cult fragrance maker Kilian. Bamboo Harmony and Water Calligraphy (£145 each) are their latest launches and are inspired by Asian Tales which is also the name of the collection, referencing the art of calligraphy and bamboo cutting within each. Interesting huh? These two are the first in the Asian Tales series and will be followed by another three to complete it, all of which are as unique and sensual as each other and top on our wish list.

Water Calligraphy is a delicate fragrance with easy notes of grapefruit, jasmine and cardamom. It is also Beauty Director Liz Hambleton favourite choice - “It’s my perfect day time scent – I love that it’s so unique and the bottle it so pretty that it sits perfectly on my antique dressing table”. The second fragrance, Bamboo Harmony, has a much more heady combination of bergamot and neroli and is in fact Beauty Editor Lauren Murdoch-Smith’s top choice, being a lover of neroli and all. “I love this one best”, Lauren told us, “It’s what I’ll be packing for my upcoming honeymoon because it’s the perfect balance of being not too sweet but also not too masculine either. Hopefully my hubby-to-be will like it!”. We urge you to go and check them out on counter now and let us know which you prefer…

Both fragrances are available at the By Kilian counter at Harvey Nichols nationwide
