Another year, another killer wave of beauty looks at the fabulous Met Ball in NYC. Twitter was buzzing away as fashion's glitterati hit the red carpet (we couldn't put our phones down for fear of missing any glam goss!). As well as the wonderful dresses, we spotted all sorts of wonderful hair and make-up looks so scroll the gallery to see our faves...

Jessica Alba

Possibly our fave look of the lot, we're obsessed with Jessica's killer brunette hair wave - very Twenties chic and utterly glamourous. She teamed the look with a dazzling red lipped smile and bronze smoky eye and had photographers everywhere enraptured. Go Jessie!

Kate Bosworth

Miss Bosworth went Gothic-glam for the night with a dark red lip (something we've noticed was a bit of a trend from the evening) and tight top knot. Her pulled back hair gave her face an instant lift and she added definition and contouring along her brow bones with a touch of bronze. Add to that a perfectly arched brow and she looked hot to trot!

Carey Mulligan

Newly-wed Brit babe Carey Mulligan looked ravishing as ever with a classic black smoky eye, something she often pulls out at big events. Like Jessica Alba, Carey also went for a wave in her blonde locks to soften her look and add a bit of edge. She chose a natural nude lip to off-set the dark eye colour too.

Heidi Klum

Supermodel mum Heidi Klum looked ultra-chic with her honey-bronzed locks and glowing skin. What we like best is her beaming smile - never underestimate the power of some pearly-white gnashers girls! Her soft skin had just the right amount of blusher on too, there's nothing worse than too much rouge on the cheeks but thankfully Ms. Klum always gets it spot on.

Cameron Diaz

Lovely Cameron wowed the audience with a natural make-up look and touch of hair volume, similar to Carey Mulligan's in fact. We always love a bit of hair height on the red carpet! Cam chose a soft pink lip to go with her very au-natural look as well as a spot of coral blush. A winning combo!

Camilla Belle

Gorgeous Camilla Belle had heads turning with her sexy senorita look. Her chocolate brown locks were tied back into a chic bun which she complemented with a dark red wine lip, the second we've spotted so far. And aren't those the most fabulous brows you've ever seen? Up there with Arizona Muse, our No.1 brow girl.

Claire Danes

Homeland hottie Claire Danes did us proud with her classic make-up look. She opted for a matte pale pink lip and dark eye to go with her beach blonde mane that was tied back into an up-do. We're feeling rather envious of Claire's soft skin and reckon she had a good facial before hitting the red carpet. Or maybe she is a Clarisonic addict like us? Hmmm, whatvere it is, it works!

Gisele

Yummy mummy Gisele looked quite the Brazilian beauty that she is at the Ball with her understated but highly sophisticated look. Quelle surprise! Not only was she looking surprisingly sun-kissed but she kept her make-up to a minimum to reveal her own natural beauty. Not one to apply too much maquillage, all we could notice was her soft pink lip and slick of mascara. Beautiful is all we can say...

Gwyneth Paltrow

Oh Gwynnie, we do love you! It's something about that perfectly middle-parting bun and just-the-right-shade-of-blonde locks... top marks for you Gwyn! We love her natural pink lip and radiant skin - it must be all that juicing and healthy eating, no? Most of all we love that you can see a few very faint lines on her brow and crows' feet, adding character and showing that she does NOT do botox. A girl after our own heart...

Alexa Chung

Brit beauty Alexa Chung looked her quirky self with her cute side-fringe and voluminous hair. We love! She looked a bit Morticia Adams, in that chic vamp-esque way that only she can pull off. Her classic cat eye flick and thick lashes add to this as well as that gorgeous porcelain skin - to DIE for! And another soft pink lip, we're seeing a bit of atrend for that too!

Rihanna

Whilst hre recent Twitter pics show her in pretty much next to nothing, Rihanna went a little more demure for the Ball last night. In a high necked dress and sporting a neat make-up look, RiRi went for a classic golden glow and dark brown lip. Her flowing locks were cascading above her head but she did of course reveal her under-cut and multitude of ear piercings to keep things real! We love that she's matched her brown lip to her eye colour too, very smart.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Another Brit beauty that did us proud was Rosie H-W, who wins the award for perfect pout. Her long locks were folded tightly away into a neat up-do, adding emphasis to her angular visage. Another one who went for a bronze smoky-eye, Rosie rocked the red carpet with her fierce look. Top marks for brows too!

Scarlett Johansson

Blonde bombshell Scarlett dazzled the MET Ball with her beauty look - it's all down to that coral orange lip and blossoming smile. She kept things casual with her hair which flowed around her face and shoulders and we love that she kept her skin perfectly pale without a smidge of bronze in sight. How refreshing!
