Last night at super swank venue W London, WAH Nails launched their very first book to a backdrop of disco balls, amazing RnB from the likes of Venus X and Acyde and of course . . . the VERY best dressed gang of WAH fans straight outta East London!

Designer Carri Mundane aka Cassette Playa
We have to say, we felt quite underdressed compared to the absolutely amazing vintage Versace and Moschino outfits, all topped off with creepers, rad hair with Bleach dip dyes and of course, very elaborate nail designs. Drinks - yummy Ribeana style cocktails came courtesy of Ketel One.

Sharmadean Reid, the founder of WAH and author of the book is one of the most interesting people working in fashion at the moment. With her own business, (three salons) her styling career and brilliant websites and blogs AND a one year old baby, we’re not sure how she found the time to create the book – part magazine about herself and her cool girls and part handy nail art guide, with 25 projects to do yourself at home – but we’re glad she did. Oh, and did we mention she's still only 27!

Rae Elliman, of WAH!
As she explains herself, Sharmadean created the brand because ‘before we opened, “nail art” was a dirty word within beauty circles, something a bit tacky and ghetto – but I knew it could be more. Nail artists like Marian Newman, Sophy Robson and Jenny Longworth had been pioneering fashion-forward nail art in magazines for a while, but no one was bringing it into the mainstream. And that’s where [WAH nails] come in! The book is the next step, sharing our passion, our style and our technique with you - because everyone deserves hot nails.’

Lulu Kennedy, founder, Fashion East
We caught up with Sharmadean in the whirlwind of excitement – where she was excitedly handing out books and squealing ‘I can’t believe I’ve got a book! I can’t believe it!’ When we asked her what the best thing about having to promote the book was she said ‘We’re going to New York for the American launch next week! We’ve got THIS in New York!’ Aww. We can’t think of anyone who has worked harder and or is more deserving of their success.
