Last time Rihanna ventured onto the tube to get to her own gig at the 02 Arena (yes really), the lady went for a chic no-makeup makeup look; a slick of foundation here, a dash of mascara there, a slight dusting of blush finished off with an uber cute up-do and knotted scarf combo. Paired with a pair or Ray-bans and white T-shirt, it was altogether quite modest and understated. Well, about as understated as one of the world's biggest A-listers venturing onto the underground can be...
Then a few weeks ago Rihanna told a surprised Jonathon Ross, "There’s so much traffic. It’s an hour and a half to the O2 but it’s 10-15 minutes on the tube…I'm not afraid of interacting with people, it's harmless. I feel people only act crazy when you treat them crazy." And so it was last night that the star was at it again. Can you believe it? Travelling from Waterloo to North Greenwich on the Jubilee line, she used public transport to see her ol' musical pal Drake in concert. See, she really is JUST like us.
This time, however, RiRi went for a beauty look that was altogether more high profile. Think flattering matte raspberry pout, glowing bronzed skin, gold and white pointed nails and bright blonde, glossy curls with a hefty dose of dark roots thrown in for good measure. Paired with her favourite thigh-high Christian Louboutin boots, a Maison Martin Margiela Flame T-Shirt and barely-there hot pants, her look was less “low key” and more “look at me”, which is exactly why we love it.
What are your thoughts on Rihanna bringing her hipster glam to our London transport?
