Dabbling with your hair colour is considered quite the norm nowadays, with the rise of salons like Bleach offering fantastical, fashion-led temporary colouring services at very reasonable price tags. Grey may be one of the lesser requested shades (pink is most popular), but there’s no doubt that the shade is still having a moment.
Seen all over the catwalks at Chanel, Gareth Pugh, Jeremy Scott and Giles, the trend has also been picked up by the stars including Lady Gaga, Kate Moss, Pixie Geldof and the oh-so-cool Abbey Lee Kershaw.
However, when Miss Kelly Osbourne debuted her grey-hued hair do at the People’s Choice Awards this week, her mummy dearest was horrified. Asked why she so disliked her daughter’s new look, Sharon simply replied, 'because it’s grey!'
Never lost for words, Kelly O responded, 'This is the woman who made me who I am today and she questions it. I don’t understand.' What we do know is there was a very good reason behind Miss Osbourne’s decision. 'I can’t keep bleaching my hair and I want to grow it,' she told US magazine, People. 'I take breaks in between. I did it a year ago. It was more of a lavender-y grey but I went straight grey this time. I’ll change it tomorrow.'

Kelly, meanwhile, was far more supportive of her mother’s appearance that night and tweeted this heart-warming message: 'How beautiful does my Mumma look tonight!' Bless.
We quite like Kelly’s new barnet, but what are your thoughts on the look? And have you ever dabbled with such silverly tones?
