Daphne Guinness Uses nail varnish as lipstick

Daphne Guinness has admitted to using nail varnish on her lips

We all love a barmy beauty story here on Grazia Team Beauty, but we're really taken by surprise to hear quirky fashionista Daphne Guinness likes to use nail varnish ON HER LIPS. Yep, weird as it sounds, Daphne claims to apply a richly-coloured varnish directly to her mouth. In a recent interview to promote her brilliant collaboration with MAC (which, FYI, hits stores on the 5th January), Daphne describes this bizarre and unusual use of the product as an 'experiment'. Our first response? 'Err, whaaaa?!' And our second? “How the heck does she get that stuff off?!'

You might recall that last week we were raving about how much we loved Violent Lips. At the Grazia Christmas party on Friday, one rather daring member of the team even tried a pair out (albeit not for very long), but this new revelation has really got us in a spin. As fabulous as it might look, we don’t think we’ll be partaking in Daphne’s lip fix, mostly because we can’t think of anything worse than applying nail varnish remover directly onto our poor pouts. Eww.

Grazia Team Beauty try YSL's Lip Lacquers

Admittedly, nail polish-inspired lip lacquers are set to be huge news next year, with French beauty giant YSL launching some pretty amazing Lip Lacquers on February 14th.  This genius and 100% unique product combines unrivalled high-shine with supremely long lasting effects, and they come in 20 glorious shades. Us beauty girls are utterly obsessed, as you can see. We're painting on various Christmassy shades of red and will be first in queue for Ms. Guinness’ long-awaited MAC collection, which is just as glam as the lady herself. We'll just be keeping the nail varnish for our nails, thankyouverymuch.
