Chances are, you will have probably heard of Nail Rock already. Known for their striking designs, these stick-on nail wraps are an easy and mess-free way to make over your nails. We loved, loved, loved the kitschy nails at Meadham Kirchhoff’s Spring/Summer 2012 show and this year we’ve been glued to X Factor, not just for the singing or the drama but also the nails! Did you spot Rhythmix rocking mix and match nails featuring Little Misses and characters from the Muppets or Misha B’s very cool Nail Rock Swarovski-adorned talons? So Grazia Daily decided to rock X Factor-inspired nails yourselves...

As I’m typing this I’m getting very distracted by my fingers tapping away on the keys since I have just made over my dull manicure with a set of python (SO this season) Nail Rocks. These are super easy to apply and don’t even require any heat like the older generation of wraps. You simply prep the nails with a bit of a buff and file, then select the sticker that’s the closest match to your nail size (you can always trim them down if they don’t fit exactly). Press it down onto the nail, making sure there are no creases and file off the free end and voila – a nail that has truly been rocked! It takes a little practise to get the hang of smoothing out all the creases but by the time my left hand was done and I was onto my right, it was all smooth sailing from there on out! So now that I’ve mastered the art of Nail Rocking, I wondered what else could you do with a set of these…

I tried cutting up the stickers whilst they’re still backed on the adhesive paper and then put them over the ends of my tips for a new French manicure look.

I also had a go at recreating Sophy Robson’s V-Gap nails as seen at Antonio Berardi A/W '11 by cutting a triangle into the rounded end of a sticker and then splicing it in half before applying the two sections onto the nail.

But in the end I decided to opt for a simple but effective look by painting my nails black and using two Nail Rocks on each hand as statement nails. Not only do they look great amongst some block colour nails but this way they’ll last longer too!
