And now for something completely different. We all know that Madonna is undisputed QUEEN OF RE-INVENTION (yes, come and talk to us about that in 15 years, Lady Gaga, you iz still a beginner) but what’s this latest guise? A rockablilly quiff? Impenetrable Stevie Wonder-style sunglasses? Oh yes. Could it be you have been taking style tips from London’s very own eccentric catwalk-catsuit-Queen and mistress of all the capital’s fashion parties, PAM HOGG? COULD IT? Well, come to think of it we’ve never once seen them in a room together . . .
The quiff-worthy occasion was a private dinner and ceremony hosted last evening by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini, where actress Jessica Chastain received the 2011 Gucci Award for Women in Cinema from Madonna who was resplendent in a Gucci one-of-a-kind 40's inspired black georgette long sleeved evening gown with jet and gold metal detail at the waist and fully beaded skirt. Mmmm!
Meanwhile in other Madonna news, she revealed at a press event for her new film, W.E that she is makin’ some more music. Yay! She’s back working with Ray of Light producer, William Orbit, and French house music supremo, Martin Solveig, to create an album we might be able to listen to in the spring of 2012. Wowsers. We are going out shopping for satin hotpants, a pair of ‘80’s roller boots and some giant headphones to listen to it in, pronto.
This is almost too much her Madge-ness related excitement to cope with in one day!
