Backstage hero and Topshop make up artist, Hannah Murray has always been a favourite amongst the Grazia Team Beauty gals. Not only has she created some of the hottest looks on our beauty shoots, but she always delivers wise words at Fashion Week, which we, of course, report straight back to you. And now, on a much deserved break to Thailand, Hannah has been blogging especially for Grazia Daily (and making us ultra-envious while she's at it). So over to you, Hannah…
The days are passing by in a blissed-out haze. Today went something like this... 8am Hatha Yoga, Breakfast of green detox juice, tropical fruits and bircher muesli, Thai Massage with Herbal Compress on a wooden platform (birdsong and the sea breeze lulling me to sleep), I then floated to lunch by the pool, returned to the Wellness centre for my Oriental Herbal Detoxifying body scrub & wrap (skin is like a babyʼs - must get hold of these Sodashi products), and then it was dinner with my new pals and down to the beach for the Floating Lantern Ceremony (it was cancelled last time because of rain) - so magical, they looked like giant jellyfish gracefully floating to the surface of the ocean, taking our wishes with them.
And today I found my Guru. Well, thatʼs what Iʼd like him to become! Rajesh Ramani is a Life Coach and Meditation Teacher and a former Monk from India. I wanted to listen to his stories for hours. He made me see myself with a new clarity and gave me exercises to help reduce stress and bring mindfulness and balance into my life. Heʼs been called upon by many high profile people (Alisters, Dignitaries, Politicians) all over the world. And Fergie! I suggested he come to the UK to tackle our Broken Society. If only there were people like him giving positive life messages and advice to the young kids in classes around Britain weʼd live in a much more harmonious, happy World. In the absence of any inspiring Make Up tips that popped into my head during any of the above (sorry, Iʼm totally zenned out), here are a couple of Beach Beauty Icons - looks I would love to rock if I had the energy...
Tan - SiennaX Gradual Tan (the safer option)
Eyes - MAC Cream Colour Base in Dusk (eyelid) and Pearl (inner corner of eye to open)
Kohl - Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Espresso
Waterproof Mascara - Chanel Extreme Cils Waterproof 2 coats
Bronzer - Shiseido Tanning Compact Foundation in Bronze (my new find!) followed by Guerlainʼs Terracotta Bronzing powder
Lips - Topshop Lips in “Desert”
Thick 60s hair - A little high maintenance, especially in this humidity! Would need some backcombing, Elnett and Sam McKnight.
BRIGITTE BARDOT - In ʻLe Meprisʼ
Kohl - Topshop Kajal in Crushed Charcoal drawn thickly along top lashes drag pencil outwards and upwards. Smudge into outer part of bottom lashes
Waterproof Mascara - 2 coats, top lashes only
Peach/Caramel lip - MAC lip pencil in Oak/Nars Bambi lipstick
Skin - A sheer foundation/tinted moisturiser with a light dusting of translucent powder
Cheeks - a wash of apricot blush.
PATRICIA ARQUETTE - True Romance
Hereʼs a lesson in how to rock a red lip on the beach.
Peroxide hair. Ray Bans. Attitude.
Turqoise bra (bikini) Dark brow.
Kick-ass Red lip (Iʼd use NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square)
Christian Slater circa 1980 would be nice too but we canʼt have everything.
