Over a healthy lunch of Waitrose-bought salad, olives, vegetable samosas and berries from the newly opened store next door (we haven’t got over the novelty of its opening yet), we veered from championing one great British food institution to a great British skin one instead. As it so happens, more than a couple of the Grazia Beauty team girlies have been ardent fans of cult Brit skincare brand, Liz Earle ever since it launched in 1995 and while Mathematical prowess is somewhat limited on our side of the office we did manage to work out that our collective team Cleanse and Polish consumption has got to be veering towards several hundred by now. Bearing this in mind, we’re all in a fluster at the news that the lovely Liz is set to introduce a Sheer Skin Tint next month after 3 years in a vigorous development phase.
“For us it is a bridge, a step into color,” says Earle of the tints which, fittingly for a brand based in skincare, are “about luminosity and getting a lovely glow…letting the skin’s natural beauty shine through.”
“We’re naturally based, but I think when you work with colour it’s impossible to be completely natural,” said Earle, noting that’s why the colour line doesn’t share the skin care’s Naturally Active name. “We push it as much as we can…and say, ‘We’d like to work with botanicals, we’d like to include the natural form of vitamin E’...we had a lot of parameters that are very unusual.” We’re sold…What are your thoughts?
