Beauty Dispatches from The Secret Garden

26 July 2011

One spritely member of Grazia Team Beauty hotfooted it down to the Secret Garden Party over the weekend for a few days of festival frolicking. Amongst the dancing, costume-wearing and general tom-foolery, we were most impressed with the Garden’s Healing Field and Sanctuary, offering massages, Reiki and other lovely things for a speedy pep-up the morning-after-the-night before. We even spotted a yoga class full of people looking admittedly more sparky and fresh-faced than ourselves.

We did however take some time out to indulge in a mid-afternoon massage and rated it so highly that we’re desperate to go back for seconds. Luckily, a half hour goose chase led us to the Healing Field’s very own Claire Hamilton, who practises in London and specialises in acupuncture and yoga too. Hurray! 'When people have been hitting it hard at a festival there’s nothing nicer than a good massage to rebalance you and prepare you for the next few days,' Claire told us.  'We’ve had so many Secret Gardeners who have come to our Healing Field for a bit of R&R and it’s a great way to soothe the mind after a night of dancing and drinking. Stretching out in the morning sun also calms and strengthens your body before you decide to retox!'. Couldn’t have put it better ourselves. We have already booked in for a massage with Claire at The Westover; waiting ‘til next year’s Secret Garden Party just seems far too long.
