The suspense is over and at last we can reveal all the details of what made up Princess Catherine’s bridal beauty look. Yep, Grazia Daily has just had a chat with the team behind her gorgeousness, so let’s start from the top...
According to Richard Ward, the man behind Kate's bridal hair, the official name of her 'do is the 'Demi-Chignon' and was determined by the Halo Tiara (which was lent to Kate by the Queen and belonged to the Queen Mother). Richard explained that Kate’s hair was pulled back in a half up, half down style, with the remaining hair ‘loosely twisted to soften the effect and then gently pinned at the back of the head’. Her fringe ‘was loosely draped over the forehead to keep a soft romantic feel’ whilst the waves were carefully positioned back from her shoulders to show off the detail of her stunning Alexander McQueen wedding gown. Along with James Pryce, who’s been Kate’s hairdresser for four years, Richard spent two hours styling the hair this morning, as well as spending an hour last night prepping to create the right structure and ensure the style lasts all day. 'We used Richard Ward Couture Hair Holding Serum and spritzed her hair with Couture Hair Volumiser to create soft hold to the style,' Richard told us. 'Hair was then blow-dried using a radial bristle brush and then set on Velcro rollers. Once the hair was fully set, the curls were pinned, ready for the morning’.
As we know, Kate prefers to do her own make-up, even for the most important day of her life, so it was no surprise to see her sticking to what she knows best - she simply enhanced her everyday look, a great bridal trick, FYI. The bride-to-be even had a trial make-up run at the last rehearsal yesterday when we got a glimpse of those blushed cheeks. And, of course, Kate’s signature black eyeliner (Lancome Art Liner, we're told) with a wash of graphite eyeshadow turned Kate into a fairy tale bride.
The glow Kate sported wasn’t only down to her excited bridal flush - she’s been having regular Karin Herzog Oxygen Therapy treatments facials to prepare her for the big day. They certainly did the trick and so, as an avid Karin Herzog fan (she loves using the Vita-A-Kombi Day & Night Cream), Kate has the skin worthy of royalty.
Marina Sandoval spent yesterday prepping Kate’s nails, ready for two billion pairs of beady eyes inspecting her hand as William slipped the ring on her finger. Mixing a special blend of Bourjois Rose Lounge and Essie’s Allure, it was the classic neutral manicure that Kate wanted. We rather hoped she would have chosen our very own exclusive Grazia Minx Royal Nail, but perhaps they wouldn't have matched her dress...
