Get a load of this. Researchers at Keio University in Tokyo are working on inventing new software that can actually detect and measure a person’s olfactory sharpness. The research aims to help healthcare professionals assess their patient’s sense of smell. All very intriguing, but perhaps more so in light of the rumour that this group of brains are also looking to use the discoveries to develop a mobile prototype that will be able to produce a fragrance according to the ID of the individual calling. While the science of this seems to go rather over our heads, we’re nevertheless pretty darned excited by this concept. What scent would you like to represent you when you made a call? And would it be possible to alter it according to who you called e.g. something floral and pretty for mum and a sexier alternative for the boyfriend? Hmmm. Either way we’ve decided Stella, Marc Jacobs Daisy, Balenciaga and Prada Infusion d’Iris would be in the running for ours…..Come on Blackberry – we need this in our lives!
