Dita Von Teese's vampy retro beauty has a look all of it's own, and now the 38 year old (yes!) Burlesque star is set to share her hair and make-up secrets with her fans as she is writing a soon-to-be-published beauty book. And today, Dita tweeted first image from her 'DIY beauty book' (above).
As you can see, the look is totally Dita; all vintage finger waves, scarlet lips and nails and perfect porcelain skin (we're hoping the book will include hints on how to achieve that Snow White complexion). We're also seeing more than a hint of Lady Gaga in those crazy diamond-studded sunglasses.
Von Teese already has a huge following on twitter, where she regularly shares her hair and make-up musings, like these recent gems; 'Sadly, matte lipsticks are becoming extinct, especially in the drugstore. Everything is glossy! I like MAC Ruby Woo' and 'My favorite foundation is L'Oreal True Match. I use N1. It's Cher's favorite too!'
International diva Dita Von Teese started out as plain ol' Heather Sweet from Michigan, and the Burlesque star claims that it's this reinvention that will be the inspiration for her beauty book; 'I wanted to have a glamorous life like the movie stars in the movies I love, which were the old movies from the '30s and '40s. I wanted to be memorable. I wanted to be something special,' Von Teese tells BellaSugar; 'I always felt very ordinary and very boring. I never felt like a beauty, but I understood that beauty and glamour were two different things - and that glamour is something any woman can achieve.'
And Dita says if she can do it, so can we; 'When I go to events and when I do my shows, and in day to day life of course, I don't work with a team of stylists. I enjoy doing it myself. The message I wanted to get out to young women is - what you see on the red carpet - maybe they have a team of people putting them together, but it's something you can learn to do yourself if you set your mind to it.'
Is it just us or does this book sound completely brilliant? We love La Teese's glamour v beauty approach, and we can't wait to get our hands on a copy of the book and release our inner Dita... You have been warned.
