Natalie Portman Is The New Face Of Miss Dior Cherie!

09 December 2010

She's one of the most beautiful young women in Hollywood, so it has always seemed strange that Natalie Portman has not been snapped up to model for a luxury beauty brand. Well, earlier this year that finally changed, and how - when Portman was announced as the new face for Miss Dior Cherie - one of the iconic French house's best-loved fragrances.

At an event in New York yesterday, the annoucement was made official before the actress joined John Galliano at the reopening of Dior's 57th Street Boutique. It was revealed that Portman has already been shot by photographer Tim Walker for a series of print ads (we think his romantic colourful style will work brilliantly with Portman's gamine girliness). And of course, we've already had a sneak peek at the commercial directed by Sofia Coppola, who is working with Dior for the second time following her pretty, lighthearted commercial for Miss Dior. The Miss Dior Cherie TV commercial also features a male model and a white swan. 29-year-old Portman, who is currently promoting ballet movie "Black Swan" joked that the ads were 'subliminal advertising for my film'.

Claude Martinez, chief of Parfums at Christian Dior, called Portman 'charismatic and elegant'. However, the modest actress, who is a green activist and a strict vegan, confessed that 'I’m pretty casual in my beauty routine in my real life, some might say sloppy'. If only we could all look that beautiful on our sloppy days...
