EXCLUSIVE: Adam Reed on Katie Waissel’s Sixties-inspired crop!

22 November 2010

Now that we're coming to terms with our Downton Abbey and The Only Way is Essex-LESS Sunday evenings, Team Beauty can wholeheartedly turn our attention to the dramas unfolding on The X Factor. And we reckon the girls are looking better and better every week - we luuurved their beauty looks this week. Grazia favourite Adam Reed (above with Katie) is commanding the contestants’ hair backstage this series and has worked wonders with each and every one of them. To create Cher’s softer look, for example, Adam tells us he used Hairaisers Pink Label clip-in extensions to add some serious volume and movement.

But of course, the biggest beauty-related shocker of the weekend was Katie Waissel’s new pixie 'do. This morning, Adam exclusively told Grazia about the inspiration for the cut, which he did on Friday. 'It was time to make the change and we channeled a bit Edie Sedgwick, a bit Twiggy and a bit Carey Mulligan to get a soft Burnt Toffee coloured elfin crop,' he says. 'Working a small amount of Tecni Art Pli through damp hair allows us to work with Katie's natural texture and keep the look modern and fresh.' Genius! Well, we love, love, LOVE it. Plus, going darker and super-short will work wonders for the overall condition of the lovely lady’s hair, too. What are your thoughts on her new look?
