Well would ya look at Scarlett Johansson, completely starkers and swathed in black satin sheets! Doesn’t she look oh-so-sumptuous. And who’s that languishing on the bed beside her? None other than chiseled gorgeousness, David Gandy. It’s a tough gig being the face of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty, eh? Because this isn’t the scene from the screen siren’s saucy new movie but the latest campaign courtesy of Domenico and Stefano for their holiday makeup range. And, as you can see, once again, Scar Jo does a marvellous job at oozing sensuality, Italiano stylee.
Just have a peek at this behind the scenes shot, showing that the old team are back together again. Hairstylist Oribe worked Scarlett’s new bob into the perfectly modern-Marilyn bouffant, while Pat McGrath focused on creating those smoky eyes with dramatic purples, then used the holiday palette of soft chocolates, pralines and pinks for the face. We love how the makeup maestro has painted Scar’s beestung lips a sultry shade of pink with just a slick of nude gloss (no black lippy this time, folks). And if you want to get the look, Pat promises it’s super simple. ‘An almost neutral lip with a bit of colour around the eyes can be so gorgeous, but it's also daring,’ she says. Hear, hear!
Of course, the designers were overseeing the action and took some time out to give us the deets. 'For the holidays, we played with an iconoclastic idea of what's sexy, exploring a more nuanced kind of contrast,' Domenico Dolce explained. 'There's an almost intangible sensuality on the surface, seemingly delicate, yet below the surface there's a hint of the erotic expressed that's completely disarming and very much about fantasy.'
Wow, sensual yet delicate? If only we all looked so glam on our hols... [stylelist]
