Many of us who are experienced in the ways of gamine crops and short hairdos will be more than familiar with ‘that awkward growing out stage’ where you can no longer wear it in a ruffley crop without the fringe impeding your vision to a dangerous degree, yet it’s still too short to be blow dried into a bob without looking like a mushroom/Lego helmet.
Yikes! Well, Carey Mulligan seems to have cracked it. Looking gorgeous in her Vionnet dress and simple makeup, the tousled waves interspersed with hippyish finger plaits distract from the inbetweenish length as does the fact she keeps her appointments for highlights retouches regular. Bravo, Miss Mulligan – a masterclass in haircare. We don’t know the exact inspiration for Carey to want to go for a longer style, but hazard a guess it might have something do to with a certain actress at Venice Film festival *cough MICHELLE WILLIAMS splutter* turning up with the exact same pixieish crop as her British counterpart.
