On Friday we scooted down to The St Martins Lane Hotel for a master-class with Australian hair styling genius and John Frieda International Creative Consultant, Kerry Warn. It’s true to say that client lists don’t come any more famous than Kerry’s. Get this – he’s tamed the tresses of Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren, Sharon Stone, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Kirsten Dunst, Heidi Klum, Isabella Rossellini, Diana Ross, Mira Sorvino, Kevin Costner and Clint Eastwood… phewf! Hanging on to cups of tea, our notebooks and every one of The Warn’s words, we learnt how to backcomb without damaging the hair (three gentle downward strokes with a comb from the back of the head should do it), met John Frieda’s amazing new Smooth Start Shampoo and Conditioner (available next month), discovered that best hair results are achieved in the desert (no humidity = no frizz) and that in the 50s and 60s film stars and celebrities used their hair to achieve non-surgical facelifts (changing the shape, structure and tension of your hair can lift and alter the shape of the whole face.) Kerry, we love you!
