A Purple Shade of Grey

28 May 2010

At the Armani Exchange and Elle Disco Glam Soiree earlier this week, beauty chameleon Kelly Osborne worked a fuchsia lip and a pouffed-up ‘do’ the shade of which lingered somewhere between gunmetal and lavender.  Now, we predict a few raised eyebrows, but must confess that as far as we’re concerned, a quirky beauty look once in a while is nothing but a good thing – at least it gets us talking. Plus let’s face it, if you’re down with the cool kids, and we mean really down with them, you’re probably working purple hair right now. La Osbourne is certainly not alone; blogger supreme Tavi, Gaga and Proenza Schouler have all dabbled with lilac in recent weeks.  Do it well and you could end up looking like a French aristocrat or otherworldly sophisticate, but do it wrong and your friends will be referring to you as Edna in no time…Don’t say we didn’t warn you! Thoughts  below please.
