Finally! We've got a sneaky peek of make up hero Tom Pecheux's long-awaited debut range for Estée Lauder - the first in his new role as Lauder's Creative Make-Up Director. You might not know his name, but you've certainly seen his work on iconic shoots with Madonna, as well as countless prestigious ad campaigns such as Miu Miu, Gucci, YSL and Michael Kors (just a few from his extensive CV). Tom is also a regular backstage at shows like Balmain and Marni but it was in New York at the Derek Lam show this season that he debuted the new Pure Color range which, true to his style, features vivid eye and lip colours. "I've always thought that eye shadow brings women self-confidence and power," says Tom. "Makeup is such a fashion accessory - I'd like to highlight that part of the brand, and also bring a playful touch to the franchise".
First to hit the counters, from June, will be 34 new Pure Color Glosses, £15 - "the pigments are wrapped in a crystal-like coating, which results in intense, shiny color," said Elana Drell Szyfer, senior vice president of global marketing for Estée Lauder. In July, Pure Colour will launch 48 new shades, in four different finishes: matte, satin, luminous and metallic, and with vibrant navy blue and luxe sparkling gold (the shades Tom road tested at Derek Lam). The Pure Colour range has certainly had a fashion make-over.
